‘Nemesis’

A story between good and evil is as old as time, the symbolical inspiration came from depictions of archangel Michale fighting off a demon in a monumental battle that never seems to end. I seeked out o strong experience decorated by the lightness of the good enigmatic creature, that’s seems to obey a universal law - in the end one can’t be without the other.

This drawing and a few others came in as splurge of inspiration. All I knew I needed was the black and white colored pastels and toned paper, the rest fell in place organically. Slight pinks show through to create a closer connection to a humanized fleshy body, rather than a complete alien, it helped me to express a possible slight conflict inside the enigmas mind as he gazes up in to the spheres above.
